AC Milan safe hand Gianluigi Donnarumma has been tipped to depart the Italian club this summer transfer window, with reports suggesting Real Madrid and Chelsea are keen.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper has established himself as a vital figure at AC Milan, making over 100 matches already in his brief career and showing consistency, maturity and quality beyond his years.
In turn, it’s no shock that he has attracted a lot of interest from around the continent of Europe, with The Sun citing that Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea, and Real Madrid could all eye a switch.
What has sparked the latest round of rumour over the future of the Italian international is that AC Milan are expected to sign Napoli goalie Pepe Reina, with Italian publication Calciomercato noting that the Spain international underwent a medical during the week ahead of joining AC Milan on a free transfer this summer transfer window.
It’s still unclear at this stage as to if he will be a replacement or a deputy option for Gianluigi Donnarumma, as Marco Storari is 41, goalkeeper Gabriel continues to be leaned out and Antonio Donnarumma is also available as back-up.
However, according to the Sun, they’re convinced that AC Milan will be willing to offload Donnarumma at the end of the campaign, despite the fact that the goalie has been and could continue to be so vital to them for seasons to come.
At 35 years of age though, perhaps Reina, a former Liverpool and Bayern Munich goalkeeper is prioritising the best financial bid at this stage of his football career.
